Our Coffee
origin
At The Artisan, we take pride in sourcing our coffee directly from small farmers, ensuring that the beans we use are of the highest quality. We collaborate with two Peruvian farmers, Dionicio Aguilar and Cati Simon, who produce exceptional coffee beans. By focusing on micro-lots and single origins, we can trace the beans back to their source, providing a level of transparency and quality assurance that is rare in the coffee industry.
Both La Encañada and Black Coffee are grown in the northern region of Peru, where the unique climate and terrain of this region contribute to the distinctive flavour profile of the beans.
We believe that by doing that, we are not only focusing on quality to provide our customers with an exceptional coffee experience. That way, we also support sustainable agriculture and the livelihoods of local communities.

Process and control
The small coffee farmers we work with take great care in every step of the coffee production process, from growing and harvesting to processing the beans. They understand that the quality of the final product depends on the quality of the beans, so they put a lot of effort into ensuring that the beans are grown, harvested, and processed in the best possible way.
Firstly, the farmers select the best varieties of coffee plants. Optimal for the conditions in the region. They also select the best method to process the specific variety of coffee, as different methods can bring out different flavours and characteristics in the beans. During the processing stage, the farmers must carefully control factors such as temperature, humidity, and airflow to ensure that the beans are dried to the optimal moisture content.
They also use special techniques such as hand and mechanical sorting to remove any defective beans that could affect the quality of the final product.
That is how they are able to enhance the best attributes of the coffee and produce beans that are truly exceptional.
Roasting
We believe that great coffee starts with high-quality beans and a meticulous roasting process. At The Artisan, we are proud of using small-batch Danish-designed coffee roasters, using techniques that bring out the unique flavours and aromas of carefully sourced coffee. Our roasting process is a true art form, and we take great pride in crafting perfectly roasted beans that will make your taste buds sing. Come visit us to be part of an experience where the magic happens.
The roasters we use, not only provide a more controlled and precise roasting process, but they are also better for the environment than larger gas-powered roasters. Unlike gas-powered roasters, electric roasters emit less harmful pollutants into the air. Additionally, small electric coffee roasters require less energy to operate, resulting in a lower carbon footprint. By using a small electric coffee roaster, you can enjoy delicious and freshly roasted coffee while minimizing your impact on the environment.
