Artisan Coffee
Artisan coffee is about more than just a great cup—it’s about people, passion, and process. We work closely with dedicated farmers who cultivate high-quality beans from diverse varieties and origins, each with its own unique character. Through small-batch micro-roasting on sustainable Danish-designed electric roasters, we bring out the best in every coffee, from bright light roasts to smooth medium profiles and bold dark roasts. The result is coffee that not only tastes exceptional but also reflects care, craftsmanship, and respect for both the environment and the communities behind it.

Our farmers
At The Artisan, we take pride in sourcing our coffee directly from small farmers, ensuring that the beans we use are of the highest quality. We collaborate with two Peruvian farmers, Dionicio Aguilar and Cati Simon, who produce exceptional coffee beans. By focusing on micro-lots and single origins, we can trace the beans back to their source, providing a level of transparency and quality assurance that is rare in the coffee industry. Both La Encañada and Black Coffee are grown in the northern region of Peru, where the unique climate and terrain of this region contribute to the distinctive flavour profile of the beans. We believe that by doing that, we are not only focusing on quality to provide our customers with an exceptional coffee experience. That way, we also support sustainable agriculture and the livelihoods of local communities.

Meet Cati Simon, the extraordinary coffee farmer behind some of our most cherished coffee beans! With dedication and passion, Cati cultivates the Caturra and Red Bourbon varieties, which have become staples in our collection. We've proudly showcased her bright Red Bourbon and recently introduced her Honey Processed Caturra variety. Now we're eagerly anticipating Cati's newest offering, so stay tuned for updates. This allows him and his team to spend the required time nourishing and letting the berries grow until they are just ripe enough for picking. Caturra

Caturra is a natural mutation of Bourbon, known for its balanced cup profile with gentle acidity and sweet, clean flavours. It’s a reliable variety that consistently delivers approachable, high-quality coffee.
Catuai
Catuai is a hybrid variety prized for its resilience and versatility. In the cup, it often offers smooth, sweet notes with a pleasing balance of body and acidity—making it a favourite among farmers and roasters alike.
Red Bourbon
Red Bourbon is one of the classic Arabica varieties, cherished for its complex sweetness and rich flavour depth. Expect notes of chocolate, fruit, and a smooth body that showcase why this variety remains a staple in specialty coffee.
Pache
Pache is a unique Guatemalan variety, distinguished by its delicate character and subtle sweetness. Known for producing a mellow and balanced cup, it highlights nuanced flavours that shine in lighter roast profiles.
How we roast our coffee beans
At The Artisan, we roast our coffee in small batches on Danish-designed electric roasters. This gives us the control to highlight each bean’s natural flavour while keeping our process sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Micro batches
Micro-roasting coffee allows us to fine-tune each batch in small quantities, giving full control over temperature, time, and development. This precision makes it possible to create differentiated roast profiles that highlight the unique qualities of each coffee variety and processing method. By adjusting the roast to suit the bean’s origin, density, and natural characteristics, we can bring out delicate floral notes, vibrant acidity, or rich chocolate tones—ensuring every coffee expresses its full potential in the cup.
Sustainable
The roasters we use, not only provide a more controlled and precise roasting process, but they are also better for the environment than larger gas-powered roasters. Unlike gas-powered roasters, electric roasters emit less harmful pollutants into the air. Additionally, small electric coffee roasters require less energy to operate, resulting in a lower carbon footprint. By using a small electric coffee roaster, you can enjoy delicious and freshly roasted coffee while minimizing your impact on the environment.
